My mama birthed me, nursed me, swaddled me, dressed me, walked me to the bus stop, cheered for me at swim meets, made me cinnamon toast when I was sick, ran through sprinklers with me in our backyard, kissed all my scrapes, sang me songs before bed, washed my clothes, reminded me to look both ways before crossing, helped me with my homework, danced with me in the kitchen, showed me how to blow on dandelions, and taught me about the world. And now that I am a mama, I know about all the work that mama’s do with no thank you or acknowledgement. So mama: thank you. Today is your day. I love you!
