Mama, do we be there yet?||Idaho to Oregon
When we made the trek from Sandpoint to Portland, we anticipated a 7 hour drive. Sike! Really it was 10 hours, 25 minutes and 41 seconds with 7-8 stops along the way. The following was our itinerary:
10:44 leave Sandpoint.
10:58 stop for gas.
12:11 pull over to the side of the road for indy to pee into the wind and get sprayed with his own urine.
1:04 pull over on side of road again when car top carrier blows open. run across highway to retrieve items in tumble-weedy median.
3:13 get lost in pasco. pull over to look at map.
3:21 figure out where we are. see an Azteca restaurant. decide that we need to eat some crappy mexican food.
5:31 pull over for gas. and soft serve ice-cream. at Mcdonalds.
6:19 pull over at rest stop so indy can pee. again. when i open up his door to unbuckle his car seat he says to me: just joking mom. actually i really don’t have to pee. kay, thanks for the funny “joke”.
7:42 proceed to sit on highway 84 for 1.32 hours whicle some people in hats make “construction” on the road.
9:37 arrive home and eat crappy Azteca leftovers.

my oh my oh my. so happy to be aboard…………..
that be NOT to be aboard………….
Welcome home lil’ family…good luck with the wedding shoot!!! Soooo happy to NOT be in your car…
xoxo
Not sure what’s more disturbing: Indy spraying himself with urine or you eating leftovers that were sitting in a hot car for 6 hours.
Awful roadtrip, but I’m sure it’ll make next year’s caravan to Idaho seem like a breeze.
Damn.
I have also experienced at least two of these things in the last week. I commute through the gorge (I recognize the place in the pic where you’re stopped, it’s mile post 47) and I too am a sucker when peeing outside…
Glad you all survived.
Also, Pasco is a little slice of hell ain’t it?
Ha – I love the “just joking” part. That Indy: such a good little kidder!
