Mr. Ray is a foundation contractor who came into our world in order to help my dad build a solid base for the new cabin bunkhouse which will ultimately house 16-20 children. He also happens to be Indy’s new best friend. Everyday that Mister Ray came to work, he poured concrete, set re-bar, built forms, and still somehow managed to squeeze in interesting and meaningful conversations with a four-year old. Indy and Mr. Ray chatted about the benefits of taking advantage of the local library and they also sang a couple rounds of the ABC’s together. When I asked Indy if he wanted to give Mr. Ray a message, he told me this: To Mr. Ray: I’m glad I met you. I really really want you to come to my house and play. Happy birthday to you. Just call me and ask me if you can come over. You can call my mom, actually.
